I frequently wake up at three in the morning and then fall back to sleep around five or six. Normally I use the time to do easy things like potter round my computer and sort out my bookmarks and stuff.
Today I downloaded Flock, the social web-browser for Macs.
It a sort of mix between a browser and a social networking tool. It's really very neat. And it's all integrated with flickr ... I can view my own and other people's photos from my browser. This blog post comes to you from Flock and I can easily drag and drop one of my photos from flickr into the post. Other things I liked included:
- I can categorize, tag and share my favorites.
- It starts giving me search results as I'm typing.
- It automatically saves my blog posts into a folder in my documents.
On the downside and at this time in the morning, I couldn't stand to see the flashing pictures in the Flock demos. And I miss not seeing the del.cio.us icon and "tag this" that I had on my Firefox toolbar. Nevertheless, move over Firefox, I'm on a new browser onda.
Another fun thing I did these early hours was making myself some Flickr MiniCards from my flickr photos.
For $20 you can make cards with your flickr photos and personal details on the back. How cool is that! I chose my ten free flickr cards which you get if you are a Pro user.
Oh oh! It's now almost 6.30 am. Fun's over. Time to catch some sleep.

Hi Bev - Flock tip in case you haven't spotted it: to keep you news subscriptions open in the sidebar go to Accounts and Services/News and untick Open the My News sidebar. Not too obvious.

Thanks David. It competes with my news subscriptions in Netvibes. Well, that's it I guess. Move over Netvibes that I had come to love and depend on. (http://www.netvibes.com/)

Hey Beverly,
Glad to hear you're digging our web browser. I hope it's really making the web more fun for you.
You can save bookmarks in del.icio.us by using the star button on the left side of the address bar. Double click the star and a window will pop up where you can edit the title, description and tag your bookmark. Then click "share this favorite" and you can sync that bookmark to del.icio.us.
Cheers,
Will Pate
