I've been struggling with my doctorate for too many years. Struggling in the sense of doing and paying it for myself in amongst lots of other life tasks. There is a relatively large but marginal group of us struggling to make a living or keep a job at the same time as doing our research - and the process takes longer. Note that we struggle in different ways than a "grad student" (US) or "PhD candidate" (other places).
I started a webpage for my research here, although in the meantime it has got overtaken with other tools and technologies and the thought processes on my blog have become more interesting. The focus of my research and practice is designing for learning in distributed communities. I am particularly interested in connecting people in international communities.
Key words are: communities of practice, learning, meaning-making, inclusion, multiliteracies, Portugal, and Web2.0 technologies. Keeping a blog helps me navigate my way through different practices and world views. Phronesis includes pondering on the specifics and the universal. It follows on from my previous blog "Em duas línguas".
More about my publications, presentations etc.
Phronesis, a contemplar o particular e o universal, vem no seguimento do meu blog "Em duas línguas."
